PlayStation Portable 2

yes guys. it's official!! the rumored PSP2 that kept us fans guessing for quite a while over the internet has finally revealed by the President of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc himself at the PlayStation Meeting 2011 in Japan yesterday.

by the way, they're not calling this new PSP as PSP2, but it will be called as Sony NGP (next generation portable). unlike PSP which has the graphic quality of PS2, the Sony NGP is more powerful with the graphic quality of PS3! how cool is that?

NGP new features:

• Multi-touch 5-inch organic light emitting display (OLED) as the front display
• Multi-touch pad on the rear of the device
• Dual analog sticks
• Two cameras (front and rear)
• Software titles on small, dedicated flash memory-based cards
• Three motion sensors, gyroscope, accelerometer and electronic compass
• Wi-Fi and 3G network connectivity
• PlayStation Network access, including ““LiveArea™”, “Near” and “Activity” log features Trophy Support
• NGP will be able to play PSP titles, minis, PS one classics, video and comics from the PlayStation Store.
• Front and rear touchpads
• Built in GPS functionality
• SixAxis controls
• Plays NGM (or "New Game Media")
• Bluetooth 

damn. look at all those new features. this is going to be interesting. the GPS, 3G, dual analog sticks, touch screen, rear and front cameras. this is not just a video game portable console, it's more to a portable multimedia console. and i gotta say, i am quite excited on the Bluetooth feature. i mean i love my PSP, but it's kinda sucks that my PSP doesn't have Bluetooth. everytime i'm going to play against a friend's PSP, we have to find somewhere with Wi-Fi connection. come on, even Nokia N-Gage is way more easier to play against friends via Bluetooth connection. right?

however no price or release date announced yet. but i can tell that it costs a lot of money since the Nintendo 3DS cost us almost USD300. that is freaking expensive for a portable gaming console! the 3DS will be released this upcoming March. let just hope that there will be a price fight between Sony NGP and Nintendo 3DS in the future since Nintendo 3DS has finally got an official rival.

and to my PSP, don't worry. i still love you. you gave me a wonderful gaming experience everyday. kicking ass with Tekken, demon slaying with God of War, hunting monsters with Monster Hunter, compete in EPL with PES, you name it. in fact, it's not like i can afford to buy this new NGP though. duhh..
